Cuticle pushers come in various materials and designs for gentle yet effective nail prep:
Metal Pushers: Durable and precise, often with a pointed end for lifting cuticles and a flat edge for pushing. Best for professional use but requires careful handling to avoid damage.
Wooden/Orange Sticks: Disposable and gentle, ideal for sensitive cuticles or minimal pushing. Commonly used with cuticle remover gels.
Ceramic/Glass Pushers: Non-porous and easy to sanitise; glides smoothly without scratching the nail plate.
Rubber-Tipped Pushers: Soft and flexible, perfect for at-home users or those prone to over-trimming.
Pro Tip: Always push cuticles back after softening them (soak in warm water or use cuticle oil) to avoid tearing. Metal pushers should be sterilised between uses!
