IN THIS LESSON

In this diagram you have all the elements of the nail.

  • Nail Plate: Keratinized layers; visible protective shield.

  • Matrix: Growth engine (produces nail cells); trauma causes ridges/Beau’s lines.

  • Nail Bed: Vascularized skin supporting the plate; discoloration signals issues.

  • Cuticle (Eponychium): Barrier against infections.

  • Lunula: Visible matrix tip; pale due to packed keratinocytes.

  • Hyponychium: Seal under free edge; prevents debris/bacterial entry. This is the peace of skin behind the nail plate, its not visible in this diagram. It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.
